Overview of This Grand Canyon & Hoover Dam Helicopter Tour

This video captures a full aerial experience combining two of the Southwest's most iconic landscapes: the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Filmed during a morning excursion from Las Vegas, the tour departs from the Strip, climbs over the dam's massive structure, and descends into the Grand Canyon itself, culminating in a landing on the canyon floor near the Colorado River. The entire route showcases breathtaking desert vistas and engineering marvels from thousands of feet in the air—a perspective few travelers ever experience.

This experience suits anyone seeking a once-in-a-lifetime adventure without requiring extreme physical fitness or technical skills. Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, marking a milestone, or simply want to see two natural wonders in a single morning, a helicopter tour of this region delivers dramatic scenery and a sense of accomplishment that stays with you long after landing.

Key Details Before Booking Your Flight

  • Tours depart in the early morning, allowing you to complete the experience and continue with other activities (the video shows a buffet breakfast and later attendance at a conference the same day)
  • The flight includes a landing on the canyon floor, not just an aerial pass—you'll have time to experience the Grand Canyon at ground level
  • Tours operate year-round, but booking in advance is essential since spots fill quickly, especially during peak travel seasons
  • Bring a camera or phone with a charged battery; you'll want to capture the aerial views and canyon-floor moments
  • Wear layers and bring sunscreen—you'll be exposed to sun and wind both during the flight and on the canyon floor
  • No special physical conditioning is required, though claustrophobia or fear of heights may affect comfort during the flight

Frequently Asked Questions About Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours

How long does the entire tour take?

The video shows a morning activity that allows time for breakfast beforehand and other commitments later in the day, suggesting a total duration of roughly 2–3 hours from departure to return, though exact flight time is not specified in the video.

Not all helicopter tours include a landing; this particular experience features one on the canyon floor near the Colorado River, which adds unique value. When booking, confirm whether landing privileges are part of your package.

Yes—the video shows extensive photography and recording of the flight. Bring a secure bag or harness to prevent dropping devices, and ensure your battery is fully charged before takeoff.

Justin’s Take

This video is genuinely helpful because it shows the full journey without editing out boring parts, giving you an honest sense of pacing, views, and what a morning tour actually feels like. You see the Vegas departure, the flight itself, the landing, and the return—not a highlight reel, but the real experience.

The best part is the confidence it builds: watching someone else do it first removes mystery and makes booking feel like a clear, exciting decision rather than a leap into the unknown. If you're considering a helicopter tour, watching this will either confirm it's for you or help you decide it's not—and that clarity is invaluable.

Description

What’s going on ladies and gentlemen — Mikey Pipes here from Pipe Doctor Home Services!

While in Las Vegas, Nevada as a guest of ACiQ for the ACCA Conference, Jennifer and I took an unforgettable helicopter tour over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon, including a landing on the floor of the Grand Canyon near the Colorado River.

This was an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience and I wanted to share the entire uncut helicopter ride and aerial views with all of you on the Mikey Pipes Uncensored channel.

From breakfast buffets on the Las Vegas Strip to soaring thousands of feet above the desert landscape, this was one incredible way to start the day before heading to Caesars Palace for the ACCA HVAC Conference with the ACiQ team.

The Hoover Dam, the Colorado River, and the Grand Canyon from a helicopter is something you truly have to see to believe.

If you ever visit Las Vegas, this is absolutely something you should consider doing.

And yes… the Las Vegas Strip is technically not in Las Vegas — it’s actually located in Paradise, Nevada!

• Las Vegas morning on the Strip
• Vegas buffet chaos (crab leg madness 😂)
• Bellagio fountain view
• Helicopter departure over Las Vegas

What's going on, ladies and gentlemen?  Thank you so much for tuning in. It's me,   Mikey Pipes. It's Sunday in Vegas. 8:10 in the  morning here, folks, and I am just blessed to be   here as a guest of ACIQ for the ACCA conference,  which starts just a few hours, I believe. Uh, but

the main event is tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday.  Looking forward to meeting the entire team who's   coming down from ACIQ. We'll be right there at  the Caesar's Palace. We're going to have a great   time. But before we have a great time for the work  family, we need to have a great time with the wife

family. Today, I got something very, very special  planned for anniversary. She doesn't know it yet,   but we're going to be taking a little twirly  bird. We're going to be checking out the Hoover   Dam and also landing on the Grand Canyon floor  in a helicopter. Can't wait. We haven't been in

a helicopter since our trip to Hawaii. That  what amazing trip that was. But guys, folks,   thank God for YouTube. Thank God for my iPhone.  And let's go for a ride. Are you ready? Let's go.   I've never been to a Las Vegas all you can  eat buffet before. So, this is quite a shock.

Look at this, folks. We even got sushi. But I   think the highlight for most  people is at the end here. Just want to get some scrambled eggs, maybe  some French toast with some breakfast potatoes,   hash browns. Yeah. So, the  whole highlight of this buffet,

and I'm going to try to get a video of it,  folks. Look at this. There's a station with   uh snow crab legs, and people are piling it up  on their plate like they've never seen before,   ever in their life. like it's $60. Sure.  Let me go show you. So, take a look at this.

I don't understand. I don't understand. But I  am going to wait and wait and wait until someone   starts piling it up like I just witnessed over  and over and over again. She's going to do it,   folks. There's one. Keep doing it. Two. That's  two. Here's another one. Here's another one,

folks. Piling on there. Pile it on there. Pile  it on there. I got to get a video of this. We got to get a video of this, guys.  This guy, he's going to do it. Load up   that train. Load it up. Load it up.  Load it up. Load it up. Load it up.   I thought I so swear he was  going to load that big boy up.

There's another one. I'll go for another. He's  going for smaller tip pickings. Jennifer, you   think you think uh Macy's inside the Talon Club?  So, I'm going to share with you guys a little bit   of a worthless information here. So, here's our  balcony wraparound, of course. And here's the

Boulevard tower pool. And may look quite empty  right now, but I'll tell you, give it a couple   hours and it's going to be packed. But what no  one realizes that this upper deck right here,   no one used yesterday. people were walking around  there like cockroaches trying to get a a lounge

chair or just some kind of relaxation spot,  but everyone neglected this area right here.   And you can easily get to it from that deck by  going up there to here. See, I don't get it.   Beautiful day here all the way down the far end  of the park MGM. That's where I was here for AHR.

Also, as a guest of ACIQ, it's great stuff. Let  me show you the Bellagio on the pool. I mean,   the fountain. Here's the Bellagio.  By the way, we're on the 14th floor,   but it's not really the 14th floor. Actually, no,  sorry, the 16th floor, but not really the 16th   floor. They lie. They say that there's going to be  a fountain show there in the next uh I'm going to

say about two minutes. So, I will stay porched  up right here and I'll get hook you guys up in   case you guys never seen it. It's pretty cool  and it lasts about 3 and 1 half 4 minutes. I'm   going to guess it's too early in the morning.  They probably start at 10:00, maybe at 11:00,

but it's 9:32 and I did you guys all a solid and  I deleted the video of nothing. You're welcome.

All right. So, the Colorado River  is approximately 800 ft down.   and the top 4,000 ft. You really can't comprehend. You got to take your like sunglasses off  in it to see a whole different perspective. Second time to the Grand Canyon.  Now we're like almost at the bottom.

Man, what an incredible day, ladies and gentlemen.  Absolutely incredible. Absolutely incredible. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I  need to be at that building by 12. I need   to be at that building, Caesar's Palace, in 4  hours with the rest of the team from ACIQ. And

let's just say I got gooseed. All good, ladies  and gentlemen. Thank you so much for watching.   If you're an HVAC contractor or installer and  you're interested in learning more, head over   to aciq.com/mikey pipes or better yet, email me  directly, mike@mikepipes.com. Until next time,

be well, God bless, stay safe. Mikey Pipes signing  off from Las Vegas, Nevada. Actually, technically   it's called Paradise. There's a whole lot of  The strip is actually not in Las Vegas proper.   It's actually in this unincorporated village  called Paradise. Ask Google. It's your friend.
