What This Budget Gaming PC Build Tutorial Shows
Toasty Bros demonstrates how to assemble a functional gaming PC for under $350 in 2026—clocking in just over $320 before tax. Rather than buying a pre-built system, the video walks you through sourcing individual components and putting them together yourself. The build achieves modern 1080p gaming performance using an Intel i5 9400F processor paired with a GTX 1660 Super graphics card, along with practical components like an NVMe SSD and DDR4 RAM sourced primarily from eBay to keep costs low.
This tutorial is ideal for budget-conscious gamers, PC building beginners, or anyone curious whether older-generation hardware can still deliver playable framerates on contemporary titles. The video emphasizes that despite the tight budget, the system remains capable of running current games with driver support still available, and it includes upgrade potential for future improvements.

Common Questions About This Budget Gaming Build
Can a $350 gaming PC really play modern games?
Yes—the video demonstrates this by testing the build on current titles like Crimson Desert, PRAGMATA, Marvel Rivals, and Fortnite. All run on the system, though at 1080p resolution and varying frame rates depending on the game's demands.
Why buy used or refurbished parts from eBay?
Older-generation components like the i5 9400F and GTX 1660 Super are significantly cheaper on the secondary market while still offering adequate performance. The video emphasizes that driver updates remain available for these parts, keeping them viable and secure.
Is building a PC yourself actually difficult?
The video includes a full assembly walkthrough designed for beginners. Basic mechanical skills and careful attention to component placement are the main requirements; the tutorial shows each step to demystify the process.
What's the advantage of a $350 custom build over a pre-built PC?
You save significantly on labor and retail markup, and you gain knowledge about your system's internals. The video also shows you have an upgrade path—you can replace individual components later rather than being locked into a fixed pre-built configuration.
Will this PC stay relevant for gaming in 2026 and beyond?
The video addresses this by highlighting that driver updates are still available for these components and the system can handle current games at 1080p. Upgrade potential is built in, so if one component becomes a bottleneck, you can swap it out rather than scrapping the whole build.
