Overview of This Rainbow Air Helicopter Tour at Niagara Falls

Rainbow Air Helicopter Tours offers a bird's-eye perspective of one of North America's most iconic natural wonders. Operating from Niagara Falls International Airport on the American side, the company has been providing aerial views of the American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe Falls since 1995. The video follows first-time helicopter passengers as they experience the full scope of the falls—from the rapids upstream to the mist-filled gorge below—in a way that ground-level viewing spots simply cannot deliver.

This experience suits adventure seekers and nature lovers who want more than the standard viewing platforms offer. Whether you're celebrating a milestone, visiting for the first time, or returning to see Niagara from a completely new angle, a helicopter tour transforms how you understand the falls' scale and power. If you've walked through the state park or taken the Maid of the Mist, you'll recognize why seeing it from the air feels revelatory.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rainbow Air Helicopter Tours

How long has Rainbow Air been operating?

Rainbow Air has been offering helicopter tours at Niagara Falls since 1995, giving them nearly 30 years of experience and a track record of safely flying thousands of visitors.

Will I see all three falls from the helicopter?

Yes. The flight provides views of the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls, plus the rapids upstream and the gorge below—all in one complete visual picture that ground-level viewing cannot match.

Is this suitable for first-time helicopter passengers?

Absolutely. The video shows that the vast majority of Rainbow Air passengers have never flown in a helicopter before, and the experienced pilots are skilled at helping newcomers feel comfortable during the flight.

Why is the aerial view better than ground-level viewing?

From above, you see the entire system at once—the development of the rapids, the churning water, the falls themselves, and the gorge beyond. This complete scope and perspective is something you simply cannot get from Prospect Point, Luna Island, or boat tours.

Can I book private flights or special events?

Yes. In addition to standard tours, Rainbow Air offers private flights, charters, and even helicopter wedding flights, though pricing and availability details are best confirmed directly with the company.

number of years and then finally wound up here at the rainbow doing tours of the falls what's nice about this job is you get to meet all kinds of different people I'd say a vast majority have never been in a helicopter before well I have never been in a helicopter so I excited about that and then we'd leave

the uh n Falls airport and approach The Falls you can kind of sense the anticipation builds and uh they're very very excited to see the falls from an angle that not everybody can see it [Music]

about you so tell us about yourself how did you get into this business I firmly believe that Niger Falls has what it takes to be a world class destination and when we have things like rainbow air to add into the mix and get more people aware of the great things you can do it's only going to help everybody and

this is unique this is the only chance that you have on the American side of the Falls to get this flight iron Falls to have that close proximity to see that incredible view incredible that you can see the falls from up close or underneath but something about seeing it from the air is so unique do you think

that's what people's favorite part about this is It's the scope when you look at the what it is that you're seeing in total the the development you're seeing the Rapids and how that comes from Rapids to the churning and all of a sudden it's going over and then you're seeing everything in the gorge it's just

that in complete visual picture is breathtaking and and this is the only way that you get it agreed and this is something I ask every person that I interview at explore Niagara here what is your favorite thing about Niagara in general there's just so many different things to do I think that's one of the

things that makes this whole region amazing is that I mean you have the amazing waterfalls you have the Eerie Canal you've got the restaurants and the shopping and all the other stuff you can learn about the history and the Heritage and you can learn about the things that were developed here and built here and
