okay so today is our second last day on the island or last day and night we leave uh early tomorrow but it's going to be a special one because we have books the journey to the helicopter ride so what that's going to involve is the aerial view of whitehaven beach hill inlet hook island the whitsunday
island which will be really cool and it's a 30-minute scenic flight to the heart reef pontoon and for those who don't know what the heart rate is it's a natural coral reef in the middle of the great barrier reef and it's actually shaped like a love heart imagine two of these next to each other
it's about 17 meters in diameter um because it's so protected you don't actually get to snorkel in there or swim in there um but there is a pontoon very close by in the middle of the ocean which the helicopter will land on and then we might get a glass bottom boat tour we'll get to do some optional
snorkeling if you feel like it we've got um prawn po boys for lunch and we just get to soak in the sights so this is probably one of the absolute highlights of this trip and we can't wait all this now just to feel your touch cause i never thought i'd be this heartless yeah when you say it the way you did just for

so as we touched down and got acquainted with our new home for the next few hours we decided to skip talking to the camera to truly immerse ourselves in this piece of paradise and soak up every minute so it is a glass bottom boat really awesome missions out here today it's nice like easterly
pretty much as good as it gets after taking in the epic views we were taken on a glass-bottom boat tour of heart reef and its surroundings listening to our guides talk about the local coal and marine life we learned that heart reef is about 20 million years old is made of live coral living
on dead coral and formed 100 naturally for decades heart reef was only visible from the sky by either helicopter or plane but after 10 years of paperwork plus a casual few million thrown in for construction the heart reef pontoon and boat finally opened in 2020 to get approval the site uses only wind
and solar energy has no toilet or sewage system and guests have to be limited to six people on one helicopter flight per day all to maximize eco-friendliness and minimize human impact this river mouth from here is about 40 nautical miles so it's a long way away so if you're on the mainland on a beach
near river mouth that's a high risk area the islands are considered risky because there are river systems that run off the islands but the further out to go the less risk it is so for everything we're doing today we're a small group we're not going far we're in shallow water there's no strong
currents we do have a helicopter as well so worst case spending was stung we get on the radio 20 minutes we're on the runway parallax is over the morphine so you won't even feel it and this is where you guys will be snorkeling kind of like a u-shape around the back of the pontoon you've got that
wall this patch here you can actually go all the way around this one there's a swim through over there and then um you've got this back wall and then there's a foamy all by itself that's actually the best one [Music]
