[Applause] have you ever wondered if you could Charter a yacht if you think it's something where you have to be massively wealthy or know everything about boats to plan a vacation or a yacht charter on a boat I'm here to tell you you're wrong and walk you through the process so that
you could plan yourself on an epic vacation for your friends and family I have been a charter broker since 2011 I have been working full-time in the industry I've been a sales manager I've trained tons of people up into this position and within the industry I frequently have other peers asking me
for advice and tips and I'm happy to share my expertise with you and anyone that ask to help you plan the right vacation for you and your friends in this video I'm going to walk you through exactly what it looks like to Charter a yacht I'm going to cover everything from what it's like planning the trip the
financial aspect of it and what it's like on board the I've booked yacht vacations at every end of the spectrum from spring break trips to Mega Yachts for movie stars I'm here to tell you anybody can do this vacation what luxury means to you it's what not the same thing it means to somebody else
and the islands and these Charter destinations are fabulous on any boat you're on so let's talk about how it works most people are going to book seven nights 8 days it's going to be this experience where you wake up unpack your bags once and you wake up somewhere new every day the reason why you go to
these Charter destinations is usually there's a lot of islands in a really close proximity to each other you're never going to be that far from land in most destinations and in most places you can actually see where you're going before you leave I think a lot of people think about like deep sea fishing or
something that's their other big boating experience and went on a fishing trip for a day this is completely different you're not going way offshore where you can't see land you can almost always see land and you're never that far out of the sight of land you're going to sail for 3 to 4 hours a day so on a typical
day you're going to wake up have breakfast talk about what you're going to see and do and then kind of set sail you might pull out um the water toys in one of these destinations maybe do some snorkeling maybe use a paddle board a kayak do go tubing there might be a jet ski on the boat that you could explore
those are awesome examples of things that you might do when you get there early afternoon it's probably where you're going to find yourself either where you're on moing ball somewhere for the day or you are on dock for the day it's going to vary whether or not you're on a moing ball or whether you're
docking a lot of it has to do whether you're in the Caribbean or Mediterranean if you're not on a dock the boats all have a small boat called the dinghy that you're going to use to get to and from the shore as you need to when you plan your trip you're probably going to get a yacht with at least a twers crew so that
would be a captain and a cook who are going to handle everything for you during the trip you will complete a preference list before you start which will be your dietary preferences so any food allergies or dietary restrictions are just I don't like that sort I don't like mushrooms don't put them on my
plate whatever it is the crew will customize it for you they'll take care of everything for the week they'll tell them if you plan to eat off the boat or if you have every meal on the boat and they'll make sure that everything's all taken care of for you so that you're having an all-inclusive experience that
will include stocking the bar for you as well with whatever you request and then on your preference list you will also complete what you like to do and what kind of trip you have in mind for this what do you see yourself on vacation are you looking for peach bars night lives and clubs each destination you go to do
you want to find where are the best restaurants in this area where else can I go where is going to be a really unique experience or I want to get away from everything can we spend some nights on anchor under the stars away from everyone whatever it is you're looking for they can customize it for you most
yachts and most crew are going to be experts on this sailing destination so they should be able to guide you through the whole process you can be as involved in the planning process of the itinerary if you want to or you can leave it all of the crew so most people have one or two spots that they've heard about or
has been recommended to them that they really want to go and then after that they kind of leave it up to the crew to kind of fill in the gaps and make any changes based around witer weather the thing that I really stress too is that this is your boat for the week so if you find yourself somewhere where you're
just having so much fun this place is so beautiful I love it here I'm going to start looking up real estate prices whatever it is you can change your plans and spend two nights there it's not a cruise ship you're not on a set itinerary it's your boat for the week and you can customize a vacation any way
you see F when you've got to your destination you're probably going to arrive early in the afternoon you're going to get to where you're docking when you're going to be set up for the day what this experience is like is going to be really different whether you're in the cariban OR Mediterranean
we book yachts in other places too but those are the most popular places to go so I'm going to talk talk about those the most but in the Caribbean you're almost always anchored or you pick up a moing ball which is just another word for a permanent anchor but you're out in the water you're surrounded by the water
it's great you can jump off the boat um you can use all the water toys and you're surrounded by tropical Blue Water you use a dingy to get to and from the shore in these destinations it's probably going to be like the food on the boat is probably going to be the most amazing thing but it's fun to go to
the beach bars and check things out and every area and every destination will have a few great places that you want to experience to in the Mediterranean it's a little bit different I would say a Mediterranean Charter is much more of an immersive cultural experience Everybody Eats at least one meal a day off the
boat and part of the fun of it is trying out the different restaurants I mean who goes to Italy who goes to Greece and doesn't plan to eat off the boat you've got to check out the local Cuisine and they're going to really vary everywhere you go and you get a great authentic experience when you find yourself in
some of these really small Islands there's one Bakery on the island there's one restaurant and people are so welcoming and so thank thankful that you've come to their little island checked out their little restaurant their little Taverna everywhere you go there's going to be cobblestone streets
there's going to be art and jewelry for sale which are my favorite things to buy on vacation they last a lifetime it's just and there's going to be history so there's going to be forts to explore there's going to be old ruins it's going to vary a little bit between destinations but very much a cultural
immersive experience and a lot of the time you're docking in the Mediterranean so you can just walk off and on the boat as you please how much does it cost as long as been a charter broker everywhere I go everyone I meet wants to know how much does it really cost to do a trip like that that's so interesting I've
never heard about that what does it cost I hate to talk in Broad Strokes because everybody's idea of what luxury is is a little bit different but just to give you some round numbers we're going to say if you're looking for allinclusive experience so again at least a two-person crew all your meals and
drinks included it's going to be at least $20,000 a week for a catam and that's going to be entry level pricing our average sale is certainly a bit higher than that but you know if it's a family trip if you're bringing your kids that's kind of a a number to keep in mind that you could be around 20 and you
could get it done for that you might find when you're looking at options oh if I spend a little bit more I get something a little bigger or the boat's a little bit newer these are all things you can weigh as pros and cons if we're talking about like a catamaran Charter in the Caribbean something like in the
Virgin Islands where there's lots of catamarans to shoes from the catamarans R in from like 20,000 a week to 100,000 a week you can have a really nice experience for if you're in there for like 30 to 40,000 and if you know you're splitting that cost between 4 couples it gets really comparable to what you would
pay to be at an all-inclusive resort elsewhere in the Caribbean but instead you're on this really exclusive really private vacation that's going to be a once- inal life experience when we're talking about power Yachts I would say the entry level threshold is a little bit higher I'm going to say that you're
probably going to start at 40,000 maybe we could find some boats cheaper than that but it's probably to start around 40,000 a week and go up from there the hot spots for that would be like the Bahamas is full of power Yachts to shoes from and certainly in the Mediterranean there's tons of boats to choose from
their power Yachts as well the advantage of it is just you're going to get a sweet master cabin every boat on a power yacht is going to have a master cabin and then maybe a second VIP cabin that are way nicer than the rest which is great if you know one person is picking up the tab you know if Grandpa's picking
it up for his kids and grandkids it's great they get the master cabin maybe his kids get the VIP cabin something along those lines when you start getting kind of over 70 feet that's where you will find boats that have a Jacuzzi on the deck where you start to get different levels the more levels you
have it's just more outdoor spaces you can explore the sky is a limit with how much you can spend on power Yachts you could easily spend a 100 Grand a week 200 Grand a week there Yachts to go up to a million dollars a week anything kind of in that Spectrum are probably let's say 70 to like 150 are a great
budget you're going to get a really high level wonderful experience you can do something for 40 but probably the average price for a power yacht is going to be between 70 to 150 and again you know it's a lot of money but if you're splitting this between five couples or something things get a lot more
affordable in some locations we also book High occupancy Yachts so boats might sleep 22 people um specifically in Croatia this is something where we do a lot of business in and in that area you know you're booking this giant yacht it might have a slide that's got every amenity maybe a sauna and a massusa on
the boat a movie theater absolute luxury but because you can split the cost between 22 people or sometimes 30 35 people the cost per person becomes a lot lower so that's a great entry level place there are a few other places that are dotted around the world that have high occupancy Yachts as well like
Indonesia or some other like Southeast maybe the Maldives the boats tend to move around a little bit so it's hard for me to quote where they are exactly but they're always in Croatia in other places there's regulations that make it difficult to run a high occupancy yacht so most boats will max out at 10 to 12
guests this is kind of um the overview of what it's like to Chara and how you get started in this process our goal is to have a conversation with you give you options help you make the right decision and help you make an educated decision working with a charter broker whether it's us or anyone else what we do is we
