Justin’s Take

This video is genuinely helpful because it shows the behind-the-scenes philosophy of a tour operator rather than just selling you the ride. You get a clear sense of how Magnum treats its customers, what kind of aircraft you'll fly in, which sights you'll see, and what the overall tone of the experience will be—all things that matter when booking an expedition like this.

What I appreciated most was hearing directly from pilots and crew about their genuine enthusiasm for the islands and the job itself. Their pride in the experience comes through, and that authenticity—coupled with the mention of safety upgrades like the electronic flight bag—makes this a tour worth booking sooner rather than later.

So, our goal at Magnum is to give every customer a five-star experience from start to finish. When they pick up the phone, they make that reservation, they walk in the door, they take that amazing helicopter ride, see our beautiful islands, and then we say aloha to them and goodbye. They leave wanting to come

back, wanting to tell all their friends what an amazing and safe and comfortable experience they had with us. >> I feel like Magnum is all about the experience. Right when they come through the door, we're so excited to see them. We make sure that they feel at home, that they're comfortable from the time

they get in to the time that they get into the helicopter. >> Once they walk in the door, it's not like any other lobby you'll see in the industry. We got the Ferrari in there, the green screen. A lot of interest for what the uh the customer can experience. Once we kind of get the safety video all

done, that's kind of where I step in. Hanging out with them, even when the other aircrafts are kind of starting to take off, talking story, making sure we're going to have a good time. Especially going off with the doors off, there's no other better way to kind of see the island here, getting that

picturesque view. I always like seeing the Kalao mountain range with the sun when it kind of shines through a lot of those clouds. Also always flying into Kuloa Ranch area, Kava Valley. It's where they film Jurassic Park. We also got to Sacred Falls, tallest waterfall here in Aahu.

>> A lot of times it's a once in a-lifetime experience, just saving up their whole lives wanting to take a helicopter ride in Hawaii. We land and they just say, "Oh my god, that's the best thing I've ever done in my life on top of their wedding even, you know." So, it's a little embarrassing when a guy says that and

they go, "Wait a second." You know, you sure there's not one day that might have been a little better? The aircraft that we utilize here is the MD500. It's a D model. >> It's like a sports car, but the helicopter version, you know, so it's really fun. >> But these aircraft are highly

maneuverable, very uh fast speed. Uh great for doors off flying. >> So here at Magnum, we've recently embraced a new technology. It's called an electronic flight bag. We got that approved through the FAA that allows us to have a visual display in the cockpit with moving map. And the biggest thing

that adds to our safety of the operation is now we can see all the other air traffic on the display there that's in the vicinity to help our pilots situational awareness. >> So working at Magnum is unlike anywhere else I've worked. It really is that family feel the family vibe. We all get

along. >> So to have a family oriented workspace within the Magnum helicopters, everyone actually works together which makes it more pleasurable experience for everyone. We're really close. Like when one person's doing one thing, the other person's there backing them up. You never feel alone doing anything. So if

you're ever confused or you feel like you can't do something, there's always somebody better that can help you out.
