[Music] hi this is Candace with sees the day yacht Charters and today we're talking about how do yacht Charters work I've been a full-time Charter professional since 2011 I've booked over a thousand people on Charters all over the world from
inexpensive trips for college kids to Mega Yachts for the Rich and Famous and of course everything in between one thing I found everybody starts at the same point how do yacht Charters work what should I expect the trip to be like what's it going to be like on board so that's what we're going to talk about
today how do yacht Charters work most people book a charter for 7 nights eight days and pick a yacht with a captain and a cook maybe more if you have a big group or a big boat you will complete a preference list in advance of what you like to eat and drink and what you like to do and the will customize a menu and
itinerary for you any sort of food allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated and the itinerary is something you can be as hands on or as hands off as you want to be frequently people have one or two spots they really want to visit and they'll leave the rest of it for the crew to fill and to plan
to plan out for them the crew are going to be experts on this sailing destination they're going to know all of the hot squats to go to and all the hidden Coes and they're going to make any sort of adjustments they need to along the way based on on the weather it's going to be your boat for the week
if you get somewhere and decide that you really like it you can stay there for 2 days that's happened on trips that I've been on before everybody loved it and didn't want to leave so we adjusted our our itinerary and spent two nights on one Island it's your boat for the week you can adjust it as you need to the
average Charter you're going to unpack your bags once and wake up somewhere new every day in the morning when you get up the chef will prepare a fresh breakfast based on your preferences and then after breakfast and coffee you'll get sailing typically you're going to sail 3 to 4 hours a day and you might stop somewhere
along the way for a snorkel or a swim or little hike around an island if there's something on on the voyage you're rarely going to be out of the sight of land this is called Coastal cruising or island hopping often you can see where you're going before you leave it might just be a speck off in the distance but
you're very rarely out of the sight of land you're never that far away um once you get to your destination early afternoon you have some choices you can either hang out on the boat and use the water toys use a stand up paddle board a kayak whatever other features the boat comes with or you can go ashore in the
Caribbean you're going to use a dinghy to get a Shore um so a small boat will bring you from out in the water to the shore and then when you get there there's going to be beach bars restaurants maybe a waterfall hike or some other natural attraction in the Mediterranean you're typically docking
each night so you can walk off and on the boat as you please there's going to be Cobblestone roads shops to visit maybe some fortresses or ruins it's usually a lot bit more of a cultural experience and a lot to take in so that's kind of the overview of what it's like to be on a yacht charter for a
week there's obviously a little bit more goes into it like picking the right boat and destination and that's where we come in and help provide some personalized recommendations it's bit of a conversation where we get to know you and what you're looking for and then send you a variety of options it would
