We're heading out on a great adventure today to the Great Barrier Reef. We're going to be finding Nemo, Marlin, and Dory. [laughter] And remember, fish are friends, >> not food. >> But yeah, but really they are. and we are lovely. >> We began our exploration of Moore Reef along with a guided snorkel with
Sunlover Reef Cruises. During the guided snorkels, small groups of about four people are led out beyond the boundaries of the free snorkel area. We were visiting Australia during the fall and we were right at the tail end of Irakanji season and so we got to wear these little super ninja swim outfits to
protect us against any accidental stings. Uh at first a person might not really feel the sting, but after about 30 minutes symptoms can include all kinds of things that you do not want in your life. So wear the ninja suit. Be safe. We also had the opportunity to meet the star of the reef, Wall-E the Rass.
Wall-ally likes to have his photo made with snorkelers and is not above begging for a little bit of free food. And parrot fish are known for their loud crunching and grinding sounds that they make as they use their beak-like mouths to scrape the algae off the coral. So, listen and see if you can hear this
parrot fish munching.
In addition to the helicopter ride and the snorkeling, while you're on the Sunlover Reef Cruis's base, you can take a slide down the slide or take a ride under the waves in the submersible. Lunch service is offered during a specific time frame, so don't get so involved in all of your activities that
you forget to take a little bit of a break. The most impressive aspect of taking the helicopter tour was it gives you an idea u after being up close and personal with the reef actually how large the reef is. And even though you're flying above it and you're thinking, "Wow, the barrier reef is
