What to Expect from a Los Angeles Helicopter Tour

This video documents a first-time helicopter experience over Los Angeles, piloted through Orbic Air's Grand Tour route out of Burbank Airport. The 50-minute flight sweeps across the city's most recognizable landmarks—the Hollywood Sign, downtown skyline, celebrity neighborhoods, and coastal areas—offering an aerial perspective that ground-based sightseeing simply can't match. It's the kind of tour that works best for travelers with a bucket-list mindset, whether you're visiting LA for the first time or seeking a unique vantage point on familiar sights.

The experience suits anyone with an appetite for adventure and roughly an hour to spare. You don't need to be an aviation enthusiast; the real draw is the unfiltered bird's-eye view of a sprawling city. The video captures the genuine excitement of a young traveler encountering a helicopter for the first time, which gives you a realistic sense of both the thrill and the logistics involved.

Common Questions About Los Angeles Helicopter Tours

Is this experience worth the cost?

The video's narrator explicitly states the tour was worth the money, and 50 minutes of continuous aerial coverage of LA's most famous landmarks represents significant value compared to multiple separate attractions. You're condensing hours of ground-based sightseeing into one immersive experience.

What should I wear for a helicopter flight?

The video doesn't specify clothing recommendations, but dress for the weather you'd encounter on the ground in LA that day. Layers are wise since cabin temperatures can differ from outside air, and avoid loose items that could be caught by rotor wash during boarding.

Can I bring a camera or phone to film?

The video clearly shows footage captured during the flight, so cameras and phones are permitted. Have your device charged and ready; window reflections may affect some shots, and the helicopter's motion can make steady framing challenging.

How crowded is the helicopter?

The video mentions that private helicopters offer better views than shared tours because of fewer passengers. Orbic Air's Grand Tour appears to be a shared experience; if you're sensitive to crowding, inquire about private flight options when booking.

What if the weather is bad on my scheduled date?

The video was filmed on a cloudy day with light drizzle in the forecast, yet the tour went ahead and was still described as awesome. Contact Orbic Air directly about their weather cancellation policy, but know that overcast conditions alone won't necessarily ground the tour.

Justin’s Take

This video is genuinely useful if you're on the fence about whether a helicopter tour is right for you. It shows the full journey from arrival at Burbank Airport through the actual flight experience and even combines it with a ground-level attraction afterward, so you get a complete picture of how a tour day flows in practice.

What works best here is the candid enthusiasm—you see real reactions to real sights, from the thrill of takeoff to the "wow" moment of flying between downtown buildings. The narrator's honesty about weather conditions (and how the tour still delivers) builds confidence in booking. This is definitely worth watching before committing to your own flight.

Description

Today I did something super exciting! I went on a helicopter tour!!! This tour flew all over the Los Angeles area. I got to see some of the most famous things in Los Angeles like the Hollywood Sign, DTLA, Hollywood, Santa Monica and so much more. It was worth the money for that tour. I also went to Griffith Observatory which was super cool.

good morning everyone welcome back to another Vlog today it's my first full day here in Los Angeles and I'm so excited to explore because yesterday I got to see the area around the airport but not the city as much so I'm super excited to go see all the big things in the city and there's something really

cool that's going to be coming up in this Vlog so you don't want to miss that but the weather today is not that great it's cloudy luckily it's not raining too heavy there's some light drizzle that's forecasted but nonetheless I'm about to get going and explore la thank you so now I'm on my way to Burbank Airport

and you might be wondering why I'm heading to the airport that's because I'm going on a helicopter tour and this is so exciting because this is my first time in a helicopter and first time in a helicopter tour too and I'll be going taking a big tour of the city going all over Santa Monica Hollywood be able to

see the Hollywood Sign Griffith Observatory the downtown Skyline so this is going to be super exciting I can't wait and I hope you enjoy so Los Angeles has been full of surprises because today something that I had no idea that happens happened and that was the LA Marathon so this was the 38th annual one

this year and it happens on March 19th and I was here when it happened I didn't see it because they started early and they didn't run near my hotel but still really cool that that was happening today [Music] all right I made it to my helicopter

tour I have to be here 20 minutes before so I'm about to head in but I'm super excited because this is my first time in helicopter so excited to see La and see the city from above because it's a whole different experience and if you're wondering what company I do this with it's called orbic air this is not a

sponsorship or anything it's just if you want to take this helicopter tour yourself because I wouldn't blame you The Grand Tour that's the tour that I'm taking and it's 50 minutes long so it's a long tour but it's definitely going to be worth it I can't wait and I hope you enjoy this all right it's time for the

helicopter tour I'm on the ramp getting ready to go oh [Music] the day even though the weather was cloudy and rainy it was still an awesome helicopter flight soon after takeoff we Flew Over The Hollywood reservoirs and right next to the Hollywood Sign then

it's not long after we started flying towards downtown where we flew by the Silver Lake Reservoir and then Dodger Stadium and then downtown came into view [Music] by far my favorite part of flying over downtown was flying in between the buildings because we were level with them after downtown we started flying

towards Hollywood where we flew right over the Dolby Theater and the TCL Chinese Theater and then we started flying towards Century City but before that we flew into the hills where we saw famous people's houses like that one [Music] I don't know about you but big houses like that feel like school buildings to

me since they're so huge after flying over some famous people's homes we flew right over Marina Del Rey and then we saw LAX and then the Southwest 737 took off from the airport [Music]

thank you [Music] foreign [Music] welcome back to Burbank that was incredible I had so much fun seeing La

got to see so many things saw Southwest Jet taking off of LAX so that was cool [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

[Music] foreign [Music] Observatory I'm parked at the Greek Theater and then I'm going to ride the shuttle bus up but it's a quick ride

because there's no parking up there so that's what I have to do all right I made it up to Griffith Observatory and this is where I flew over in the helicopter and it's so much better and I have private helicopter so if you want to get good views I would recommend the private helicopter not that this is not

good it's just that there's way more people but I'm gonna head inside of the planetarium might take a little while because of the line and I'm enjoying the city views too there's a Century City over there that's where it flew over as you can see when I flew it was much better weather because now it's a little

bit more in here and then there's downtown LA time to head into the observatory and see what's inside [Music] [Music] okay so I just left Griffith Observatory

and it was really busy in there and now I'm heading back down to the great theater quickly shuttle and I'm gonna head back to my hotel thank you so much for watching today's video this is a little bit of an early ending but I'm gonna end this video now because that's it I really hope you enjoyed seeing

Griffith Observatory and going on the helicopter that was awesome I really enjoyed that and now I'm working on editing all of this footage and so you can see all these Vlogs but make sure to like And subscribe down below and comment down below would you go on a helicopter tour and I'll see in the next

one bye guys okay so now I am on my way to Burbank Airport and you might be wondering why I'm heading to the airport all right time to head into this so behind me is the Hollywood sign and then on the other side all right everyone thank you so much for watching today's video I hope you

enjoyed I had such a great time exploring La getting to ride in that helicopter going on the hill [Music]
