What to Expect on This Las Vegas Helicopter Tour

This video documents a complete helicopter tour of Las Vegas aboard a Maverick Helicopters Eurocopter EC130, one of the company's popular aircraft for sightseeing flights. The experience captures the full journey—from hotel pickup via limo bus through the Signature private terminal at McCarran International Airport, the safety briefing, flight itself, and return to your hotel. The flight time is approximately 14 minutes of airtime, giving you a concentrated aerial perspective of Las Vegas's most recognizable landmarks.

The tour suits anyone seeking a quick but comprehensive aerial view of the Strip and downtown Las Vegas without committing to a longer, pricier excursion. Whether you're a first-time visitor wanting to see the layout of the city from above, a aviation enthusiast curious about the EC130's handling, or someone looking for a memorable photo opportunity, this tour delivers close-range views of iconic hotels, casinos, and the famous Stratosphere tower. The video shows the experience in daylight conditions with clear visibility of the urban landscape.

Highlights of the Las Vegas Aerial Route

  • Low-level Stratosphere pass: The helicopter buzzes the Stratosphere tower at low altitude, providing an intimate view of the structure and the surrounding Strip activity.
  • Full Las Vegas Strip flyover: The route takes you the length of the Strip with clear sightlines to major hotels and casinos including the Luxor, delivering the classic aerial perspective most visitors want.
  • Fremont Street U-turn: The flight includes a turnaround over downtown Las Vegas's historic Fremont Street, offering a different perspective of the older gaming district.
  • Sporty takeoff over corporate jets: Departure includes a dynamic takeoff over the Sands corporate jet fleet, plus views of the JANET Boeing 737 aircraft used for Area 51 worker transport—a distinctive detail you won't see on every tour.
  • Live event viewing: Depending on timing, you may see special events unfolding below; the video shows the ACM Party For A Cause festival in progress during the flight.
  • Private terminal experience: The tour includes access to the upscale Signature private aviation terminal rather than the main airport, streamlining the check-in and boarding process.

Common Questions About This Las Vegas Helicopter Experience

How long is the actual flight time?

The flight shown in the video lasts 14 minutes of airtime. When you factor in hotel transfer, check-in, safety briefing, and ground procedures, the total experience from pickup to drop-off will be considerably longer—typically 60 to 90 minutes depending on your hotel location and traffic.

What is included in the tour price?

The video confirms that Maverick Helicopters provides limo bus transportation from your hotel, use of the private Signature terminal, the safety briefing, the helicopter flight itself, and return transport to your hotel. Confirm whether photos, video footage, or other add-ons are included or cost extra when you book.

Can I choose which seat I get?

The video shows a front-seat perspective, which offers the best visibility for photography and sightseeing. While the Eurocopter EC130 has multiple seating configurations, availability of specific seats may depend on group size and booking. Contact Maverick directly to request a front seat or to understand seating options for your date.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear comfortable clothing and secure footwear for easy movement through the terminal and boarding. Bring a camera or smartphone for photos; the clear daylight conditions shown in the video are ideal for photography. Avoid loose items that could fall during flight, and follow the pilot's safety instructions regarding what you can bring aboard.

Is this tour suitable for children or nervous flyers?

The video shows a smooth, controlled flight with steady handling by the pilot. The 14-minute duration is relatively short, which may suit anxious passengers. Maverick Helicopters typically accommodates children and nervous passengers, but confirm age requirements, weight restrictions, and any medical considerations when booking. A pre-flight conversation with the crew about your concerns can help ease anxiety.

Description

A full length, full flight video with Maverick Helicopters operating a helicopter tour of Las Vegas.

The video begins with our transfer from our hotel, The Venetian, onboard Maverick's limo bus. We arrive at the Signature private terminal at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, ahead of our flight on the sporty EC130 for our helicopter tour.

Before long we walk out to our helicopter receiving our safety briefing from the pilot, before boarding the helicopter in the front seat and firing up the engines. We make a sporty takeoff over the Sands corporate jet fleet, and over the infamous JANET Boeing 737s used to transport workers to nearby Area 51.

We then head up the famous Las Vegas strip getting a phenomenal view of the hotels and casinos, buzzing the Stratosphere tower at low level before making a U-turn over Fremont Street.

We then buzz the Strat again getting a great view of the ACM Party For A Cause festival that is getting underway beneath us. From there it's down the strip again towards the famous Luxor hotel, again swooping down over the private jet ramps and touching down smoothly at the Signature terminal.

We disembark the helicopter back into the terminal to get our bus back to the hotel.
