Overview of Five Amazon Dog Accessories for Your Jeep Wrangler

Matt from Dirt Road Cred tests five budget-friendly dog accessories available on Amazon designed to protect both your Jeep Wrangler's interior and keep your pets safe during adventures. The video walks through each product's installation, features, and real-world performance, with prices ranging from roughly $40 to $60 per item. All five products are non-sponsored purchases, chosen based on Amazon reviews and inclusion of useful features like carabiner clips and adjustable straps.

The accessories cover different aspects of pet travel: protecting cargo areas, separating dogs from the front cabin, securing rear seats, tethering dogs safely, and removing embedded pet hair. The host demonstrates each product on his two dogs (Kona and Onyx) in a four-door Wrangler JL, showing how they install using existing vehicle hardware and how they hold up during typical use.

Key Moments

Key Features of Each Dog Travel Product

  • Cargo Area Floor Liner: Waterproof cover with velcro attachment points and storage bags; includes six carabiner clips that bolt to the hard top or soft top frame, and works for both pet transport and other cargo like beach sand or firewood.
  • Cargo Barrier Net: Divider separating rear cargo from front seats using hard top bolts and front tie-down points; keeps hyperactive pets contained and prevents loose cargo from flying into the passenger area during sharp turns or accidents.
  • Rear Seat Cover: Heavy-duty quilted material with textured surface for pet grip; includes zipper sections for accessing the front console and seat belt access points, plus can be configured as a hammock-style wrap or with raised side walls.
  • Dog Harness Leash: Elastic safety tether available in multiple colors with reflective interior; clips to both seat belt anchors and headrest points, designed for dogs already wearing a full-body harness (not for collar-only use).
  • Pet Hair Remover Tool: Handheld device with three density settings (minimum, medium, maximum) for extracting embedded fur from car carpets and fabric; works on both vehicle interiors and home furniture.

Why Pet Protection Gear Matters for Jeep Adventures

Dogs that travel frequently in vehicles face real safety and comfort challenges. Without proper restraint, a pet can become a flying projectile during sudden stops or turns—a hazard for both the animal and passengers. Interior damage from claws, accidents, and shedding can cost hundreds in repairs, while dogs sliding around on slippery seats lose their footing and become anxious. These five accessories address those concerns affordably: restraints prevent injury, barriers keep pets in designated zones, covers protect upholstery and cargo areas, and hair removal maintains a clean cabin. For owners who regularly take their dogs on adventures in a Jeep Wrangler, even one or two of these products can significantly improve safety, reduce vehicle wear, and make trips more enjoyable for both pet and driver.

Questions About Using Dog Accessories in a Wrangler

Do these products work with both hard tops and soft tops?

Most of them do. The cargo cover and cargo barrier use bolts that are pre-installed on the vehicle frame—the same bolts that attach hard tops can be used for soft tops, since the nut inserts are already part of the Wrangler's frame rails. The rear seat cover and harness leash are universal and work regardless of roof type.

Will the cargo barrier fit if I have a subwoofer or other cargo?

Yes. The video demonstrates the cargo cover installing over a subwoofer without issues, and the barrier net is designed to protect your cabin from loose items, so it actually works better with cargo already in the back.

Can I use the dog harness leash with just a collar, or does my dog need a full harness?

The video explicitly warns against using the leash with a collar alone, as it can cause injury. The leash is designed only for dogs already wearing a full-body harness, where the elastic attachment connects to the harness rather than pulling on the neck.

Are these products difficult to install?

No. All five products use tools already in the vehicle (for bolts) or simple velcro, straps, and clips. The host emphasizes that installation is "extremely simple" and requires no special equipment or modifications to the Jeep.

Will the pet hair remover actually work on stubborn shedding?

The video tests it and shows it does pull embedded fur out effectively. It has three density settings so you can match the tool to how much hair is present—use the smaller setting for light shedding and the largest setting for heavy clumps. It also works on home furniture, so it's a multi-use investment.

Justin’s Take

This video provides genuine value for pet owners who adventure in Jeeps. The host doesn't oversell the products; he shows real installation, discusses trade-offs (like how the cargo cover might interfere slightly with the next product), and explains which accessories he'll keep permanently versus use occasionally. He clearly owns and uses these items himself rather than reviewing them once and moving on.

What I appreciated most was the emphasis on safety—the harness leash discussion about full-body harnesses versus collars, the cargo barrier preventing projectiles, and the reminder that doorless driving demands pet restraint. For anyone regularly taking dogs on Jeep trips, this is practical, budget-conscious guidance that actually works. Highly recommended.

i want to make sure that these four-legged  friends that i ride with in the jeep are   safe my jeep's protected as well as it's just  comfortable for all of us so i can see they're   already raring to go to get these mods installed  so we're gonna let them jump out and get started

now if you guys are like me this cargo area can  get extremely beat up this first one that we're   going to be installing is a cargo cover protector  this one actually includes these nice little   carabiner clips that will go on where the hard  top holds screw on so we've got four of those i

chose a lot of these amazon products that had  the best reviews and included the most items   so okay we actually got six of them there  this is pretty neat so it actually feels   right away it feels like the fabric is  pretty well built it's really gonna lay   completely out and give a nice cover for entrance  too if you've got a nice bumper back here that you

don't want to get all scratched up by their super  sharp claws so this one includes all these little   kind of carabiner style that bolt on with the  hard top bolts now don't worry if you don't have   a hard top if you have a soft top you can pick  up these bolts and simply install them there's

already the nut inserts on the frame rail of the  back of the jeep so these will just screw right   in and it's really nice because you only need to  use the tools that are included with your vehicle   so all you have to do is literally these already  have the clips on them you just reach up there

this is pretty neat so far guys i'm actually kind  of impressed i also like the american flag in the   middle that's that's pretty neat this actually  has some velcro down below here so i'm imagining   velcro's onto the bottom of the seat this just  goes up the back here same thing has velcro on it

it goes around head rest so that's going to go on  there i'm going to get all the velcro into place   if you have the jl with the center headrest  which all of them do get that wrapped around now   this one here serves a ton of purposes i will  tell you first off the material on this side

is a waterproof material too and on the inside  it looks to be quilted i'll say it's pretty heavy   duty it's not the thickest thing in the world  but for 40 some odd dollars this is going to do   a great job of covering up the back cargo area  and this one isn't just for pets i'll tell you

i just got back from the beach a couple weeks  ago and if i had this down there it would have   very much so helped keep the sand and everything  else in the back here without getting in all the   nooks and crannies and every other place that you  have to use a shop vac to get to the cool thing

also is that i'm going to put one of my other mods  for today's video right back there in one of the   storage areas so there's actually some storage  bags on there i think that overall this is an   extremely well thought out mod here and it's going  to work for a ton of different uses you could use

this for firewood for going to the beach and for  the pups in the back so this one i'm very happy   with as you can see i do have the subwoofer and  it covers that perfectly fine so this is going to   work with all models in the four-door wrangler  next up on the docket is going to be a divider

for the rear cargo area to the front cargo area  now there was a ton of these also on there but i   chose the one that included those little carabiner  clips on the front and also there were some that   actually use like suction cup mounts for the hard  top and i figured half of you guys might have soft

tops especially if it's summer when you're rolling  around and that's just not gonna work so this one   utilizes the hard top bolts with those clips  as well as the front two tie-down points on the   ground now what i like about these cargo dividers  is that if you're trying to keep the dogs in the

back if you have a hyper active pet that's trying  to get to the front of there and you really don't   want them to be jumping around while you're  driving this is going to split it up nicely   the second thing i can think of is when i went  to the beach i was so loaded up with cargo in the

back i would hate to see something fly through the  center of that and go to the front where everyone   is sitting in there it's just not really safe well  this net seems to do a great job i gotta be honest   i think i'm gonna be keeping this one on here all  the time i do really like the look of it plus it's

gonna definitely keep the dogs out of the back it  was extremely simple to install just by tightening   some of these straps and connecting it to those  clips and you have full protection and the dogs   aren't going to be able to come through here i  mean maybe if they're aggressive enough they can

get through but this was a cool one and for 40  some dollars i think it was well worth the value   now my next mod here for dogs and pets in general  might be a little bit redundant but this is going   to be your rear seat cover now if you guys go  just about anywhere you can pick one of these up

what i want to do is go through amazon and figure  out which one seemed to fit the jeep wrangler the   best so the jeep wrangler gladiator these would be  pretty similar but opening this up i just checked   it out and this one actually includes the one  that we're going to link below it includes the

seat belt clips for the harnesses so this one  if you're looking for one that includes those   this one actually does it hinders a little bit on  my next mod but there's something special about   that one so stay tuned so if you're looking for  one that includes the seatbelt harnesses this one

does and then a cool picture of this lady holding  her dog so i can put that up on the wall and now   i got free art this one i kind of liked because  it it feels a little bit more quilted but then   these little checkered patterns and all these  little dots almost feel ribbed so it kind of

gives you more grip for the pets when they sit on  here because if you know if you go around to turn   and the dogs kind of lose their footing they fly  everywhere i really just wanted to see if this   one fits the jeep better these are very universal  but if it fits great i'll recommend it and then

the link will be below so after installing this  one i got to be honest with you guys i've run a   lot of these in the past and this one does seem to  fit the wrangler really really well i read a ton   of reviews to see which vehicles this fit best  in and the wrangler was in there a ton of times

now this one actually has those sections that tuck  in between the seat to help keep this down you can   use it as a hammock style like this so it wraps  around to the front seats and then also these   walls will go up too so these zipper and you can  actually unzip them if you don't want them up and

they lay down onto the side of the seat so that  way when you're entering and exiting it doesn't   get the sides scratched up but i think it's also a  cool feature it kind of doesn't help too much with   the next mallet i was going to talk about this  one does have velcro sections down below here

where you can actually still access the seat belts  through there so if you have a passenger sitting   back on one side and then you have your pet on the  other side you can still get the seat belt to work   another feature this thing's just kind of loaded  with features here too there's a zipper here in

the center i'll unzip and then you could your pet  can still get to the front console so they can   still stick their head up or you can reach back  and give them a treat or give them a pet click   while you're driving and then also a little bit  of storage here i'm happy with this one and this

one's going to be staying in the back of the jeep  when the pets jump in there so maybe i'll let them   jump in and see how they like this one out now  another thing that's extremely important this is   kind of one of those safety aspects i picked up a  pair of these now what these are are harnesses for

the dog harness so these will go onto the vehicle  they do have elasticity in there so if you're in   an accident it's not just going to rip them these  are only recommended if the dog does have one of   the full body harnesses on you shouldn't put this  just on a collar because that can really hurt them

the one thing i liked about this though besides  the fact that you can choose the color which i   chose bright orange with reflective inside there  is that this will not only go into a regular seat   belt clip but it also has this harness which will  wrap around the headrest now i thought we were

going to absolutely need these for this rear seat  when we had this cargo cover and it's still a good   idea because you can easily just throw that over  top actually loosen it up a little bit and we'll   throw that over top and then what this is going  to do is have a harness that goes right onto your

pet's harness and still does have the elasticity  there too so i really do like that fact and you   can easily just clip this on the reason i chose  these is because when i wanted to look in the   back and see if they were connected i chose the  bright orange so i could see it you can adjust

these two to make them longer as you can see there  or you can adjust them to make them shorter too so   this will depend on the configuration also the  size of your pet and how far you want them to   be able to reach out the window cool thing with  this is i can use them on the back seat i can use

them on the front headrest and then also i can  clip them in with the seat belt click too which   i really like because my dogs like to sit in the  front too so i'll sit them in the front seat and   i gotta tell you if you're running doorless these  are a must-have you don't want your dogs seeing a

rabbit or another dog outside and jumping out but  i really do like this color and they come in like   10 different colors too so pretty cool you can  either match the jeep or get bright orange so   you can see it like these now here's last but not  least product here the mini pet hair detailer now

this one had the most reviews and looked like it  did the best on amazon and it says it does car   carpet as well as home fabric and gets embedded  fur out so we're going to try it there's a little   bit of fur already back here in the back but you  guys with dogs especially shepherds and hairy dogs

know how bad the interior of these vehicles can  get there's a maximum density minimum density and   then medium so this is like depending on how much  hair there is so it even has on there there's like   a thumb hole for you to do it but let's just try  it on this little piece here okay it seems to work

pretty well now it seems like we got a little  more air we got the small let's try the medium   okay so it seems like you use like the smaller  the medium to get more of it and then maybe the   largest once you have a ton of clumps of it or  more of the uh the fabric style but this does work

so there's just a little bit off and pulled right  out so i would say this is probably a must-have   for me just to keep the interior clean if you  don't decide to use the cargo cover or those   liners this is going to really help with the  carpet and getting it clean and plus it'll work

for your house too and all your other vehicles  so i think this is a good little kit to have   this will probably be thrown right in the glove  box all right guys well this has been a fun one   i'm glad i got to use my four-legged guests kona  and onyx to be in this one i really hope that this

helps you with the pet mods needed for your jeep  wrangler i think these are all great mods and i   got to be honest the pricing isn't too bad on them  either now like i said i'm leaving all the links   down below in the description so you can check  out all the exact products that we use today

and i'll tell you i'm going to leave pretty  much all of these in i think the cargo cover   i'll throw in and out when i need that but that  netting and that dog kind of cover for the back   seat that's going to stay in most of the time  these are great to have even if you don't have

pets maybe just load a lot of dirty stuff into the  back seat it's gonna work and really help you out   that was the whole point of this channel to show  off products that i actually use that i actually   buy and these aren't sponsored or anything too i  went on amazon and ordered a ton of parts just to

show you guys how they all work another thing  too if you haven't checked out our interior   accessory mod video definitely check that one out  as well that's a cool one to show all the interior   accessories that are also offered that are pretty  low price point but can make a big difference on

the interior until next time i'm matt from  dirt road cred get out there and earn yours

you
