Frequently Asked Questions About These BougeRV Prime Day Offers

Which solar panel is best for a shady campsite?

The video recommends the Yuma 6 200W flexible panel as the ultimate shade-tolerant option, thanks to dozens of bypass diodes that allow shaded portions to be bypassed while the rest of the panel continues generating power. The Arch Pro and ShadePower also offer strong shade performance with 28 and 24 bypass diodes respectively, making any of the three suitable if you park under trees or near roof vents.

Can the PC35 air conditioner cool an entire RV?

The video notes the PC35 works best for small spaces like tents, car interiors, or small RV bedrooms if well-insulated, but it is not designed to cool a full-size RV. At 3500 BTU, it is a budget portable better suited to overlanders who want spot cooling on hot days rather than whole-unit climate control.

Is the propane water heater safe for car camping?

Yes—the video highlights that the water heater includes a built-in lithium-ion battery and magnetic shower head, making it safe for car camping without needing awkward 12V plugs or power station extensions. The magnetic head attaches directly to vehicles, and the unit does not require dangerous wet electrical connections.

What's the difference between the Arch Pro and ShadePower panels?

The Arch Pro is a flexible fiberglass panel that can bend up to 270° and be walked on when flat-mounted, while the ShadePower is a rigid glass panel better for secure mechanical mounting. Both use the same high-efficiency N-type top con cells, but ShadePower is 11% smaller, lighter (23 lb), and less expensive, trading flexibility for durability and ease of installation.

Will the CRX3 fridge work without an external battery?

Yes, the CRX3 can run directly off a 12V vehicle outlet or solar panels if you add the optional solar fridge kit. The removable 29-hour lithium battery is an add-on for portability and camp independence, but not a requirement for operation.

Key Terms

Bypass diodes
Internal circuits that allow shaded parts of a solar panel to be bypassed so the rest of the panel can still generate power instead of shutting down completely.

IP68 water-resistant
A rating meaning the device is fully sealed against dust and can survive submersion in water under specified conditions.
BTU
British Thermal Unit, a measure of cooling or heating power; higher BTU numbers mean stronger air conditioning output.
Overlander
A person who travels and camps in a vehicle equipped for off-road and remote-area travel, typically self-sufficient for power, water, and shelter.

Justin’s Take

This video is valuable because it shows real testing data and desert-trip experience rather than just rattling off specs. The host demonstrates product durability (shooting holes through solar panels, dunking them in pools) and explains practical trade-offs like flexibility versus installation method, making it easy to match gear to your actual build.

The best part is the focus on shade tolerance and warranty length—often overlooked by newcomers but critical for campers parked under trees or in RVs with multiple roof penetrations. The exclusive discount codes and multi-platform purchase options also lower the friction of actually buying during the sale window. This is a genuinely helpful guide if you're upgrading power, cooling, or comfort systems before a trip.

A full written transcript of this video, provided for accessibility. Select any timestamp to jump the video to that moment.

Greetings. Amazon Prime Day is early this year with nearly a full week of crazy deals to be had from June 23rd through the 26th. BougeRV is offering steep discounts on a selection of products from solar panels to air conditioners. Let's check them out. Do note that all these deals are

available both on BougeRV store page as well as on Amazon unless otherwise noted. First up is the upgraded 200 W Arch Pro solar panel. The Arch Pro is flexible yet ultra-durable 16 bus bar fiberglass solar panel that comes in both 100 W and 200 W sizes. Unlike the standard Arch panel, this upgraded one

rocks 28 bypass diodes for the ultimate in shade tolerance. Basically, it bypasses any shaded areas of the panel to enable the rest of the panel to still produce power. Unlike a standard panel where the smallest amount of shading absolutely kills the output. Now, I reviewed this model last year and shot

it with a high-powered burner launcher causing catastrophic damage. It still output most of its rated power even after taking 10 direct hits that actually split the fiberglass. I took a pair of them to camp with me in the desert this past January and they worked fantastic. Just left them laying flat on

the ground. They output near their full graded capacity. They tend to tolerate more dramatic angles from the sun due to their 25% efficient top con cells and non-reflective fiberglass surface. The panel can be bent up to 270° to fit most curved surfaces and can be walked on as long as they are flat

mounted. Price with the exclusive HoboTech code is only 227 and that includes a 5-year warranty. At a buck 13 per watt for such a durable fiberglass flex panel with amazing shade tolerance, you just can't beat that with a stick. Seeing most competitors offer only a one or two-year

warranty at best. Now onto my absolute favorite solar panel of all time. I like these so much I installed three of them permanently on the roof of my new RV. And 3 years later, they're still there. These are of course the Yuma 6 200 W flexible solar panel. These panels are so durable that I literally shot five

holes through one and then dunked it in a swimming pool because it's also IP68 water-resistant only to lose 5 W from the damage. You can watch my full review I did all the way back in 2023, which was so popular fans still bring up to me when I meet them in person. These are also some of the most shade tolerant

panels on the market with dozens of built-in bypass diodes, which is another reason I installed them on my RV as I have three big roof vents plus an air conditioner that creates shadows all day long no matter which way I park. Now, these panels aren't cheap, but they do come with a 10-year manufacturer

warranty. And if you want the best in shade tolerance and durability in a flex panel, they simply can't be beat. Well, they can be beat and they still work great. Now, for Prime Week, they're selling at $379 with Hobotech code or a buck $89 a watt. They come in two mounting options,

heavy-duty adhesive that's basically a super sticky EternaBond-like substance, and that won't be going anywhere once installed. And then there's the grommet version for a reversible mechanical install. I have both installed on my RV and both work equally well. So, say you like the concept of the 200 W Arch Pro

fiberglass panel with all the fancy bypass diodes and 25% efficiency of those top con cells, but prefer in a standard rigid glass solar panel for a solid mechanical install instead of trying to wrangle with flex panels. BougeRV answered that call with their new 200-W shade power rigid glass panel.

It uses the same 25% efficient N-type top con cells with 16 bus bars and 24 bypass diodes for the ultimate in shade tolerance. These panels are also 11% smaller in size, weighing only 23 lb, making installation super easy. They're also extreme heat tolerant, so you don't have to worry about cooking them in the

desert while camping. And get this, they rock a 10-year manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. They're also less expensive than the equivalent 200-W Arch Pro, only costing $189 with Hobotech code, making them less than a buck a watt. Next up is their newly upgraded 3500 BTU air conditioner

called the PC35. Now, I reviewed the original version of this back in May 2025. It performed very well for a budget portable. I have yet to try this new version, and honestly, I don't even know what really changed, but there were apparently a few bugs in the old version that required

this update. The PC35 doesn't have all the fancy features of some of the competitors, but it is one of the lowest-priced handheld portables on the market. It does come with a remote app, so you can remote access the unit without needing to touch it or roll out of bed. It uses a maximum of 400 W,

so it will run on virtually any power station with a 1000-W or larger inverter. It's perfect for small spaces such as any tent or car camping, or if you're an overlander and want to cool down your rig on a hot day. It also worked to cool down a small space such as a small bedroom in an RV as long as

it is well insulated. Be sure to watch my review because I show you the best way to do this using my own RV. BougeRV is offering Hobotech viewers an exclusive low price of $340 for this AC. So, if you've been waiting to get one, now is the time. It's certainly not going to get any cooler over the next

few months. Now, another product that I reviewed recently was their upgraded propane-powered camping water heater. The new version had significantly changed from the previous model, and while I didn't do a public review of that original model, they had sent me one and it had gotten some use while

camping. I did do a full review of this new model and was impressed by the build quality and how hot it kept the water even if it was turned off and on several times during a normal shower. If you vehicle camp a lot and you don't have a hot water shower for you or your pets, having this unit is like going from

camping to glamping. It's night and day having access to unlimited hot water in the middle of nowhere. One of the best parts is that this water heater has its own built-in lithium-ion battery good for multiple showers. So, no awkward power station or extension cord hookups, no 12-V plugs that could be dangerous or

ruin your expensive Sojen by getting it wet. The magnetic shower head is also great if you are in a car or truck camping as you can attach the head directly to the vehicle. Now, that's good stuff. This new version of their water heaters on sale during Prime Day for $288 when you use the Hobotech code

provided on their website. Last but not least is BougeRV's new CRX3 portable battery-operated 12-V fridge. Comes in both a 23 and 30-qt size. It's a single zone only and accepts an optional removable 29-hour battery without an external power station or need for a vehicle outlet. It can also be

solar-powered if you opt in for the solar fridge kit. The bundle that is on sale for Prime Day includes their smaller 23-qt model with the 240-W hour battery. With Hobo code is only $321. If you want the larger 30-qt version with battery, it's on sale for $358 with code. Note that unlike all the other

deals mentioned, this one is only available on BougeRV store page, is not available on Amazon. Anyway, that's it for BougeRV's Prime Day deals. I'll have the links and discount codes in the description of this video below. I'm also going to put a link here on the screen along with the QR code for those

of you watching me on TV. You can scan with your mobile. This will take you on over to the special Hobo Tech page on their website with all these exclusive deals. Thanks for watching. Until next time. >> Odin commands you to like and subscribe. And clean my litter box.
