Overview of the Hana Sky-Trek Maui Helicopter Tour
The Hana Sky-Trek is a hybrid adventure combining ground and air travel across Maui's most dramatic landscape. Operated by Temptation Tours and Blue Hawaiian, this experience lets you reach the remote town of Hana—famous for its coastal beauty and lush valleys—by helicopter instead of the winding Road to Hana. The video captures the aerial portion of the journey, flown by pilot Mike in February, showing the spectacular views passengers see during their flight.
This tour suits travelers who want to experience Hana's natural beauty without spending hours on a narrow, twisting road, yet still want to explore the island on the ground. The flexibility of two route options—fly to Hana then drive back, or drive to Hana in the morning and fly back after lunch—makes it adaptable to different schedules and preferences. It's ideal for those who value both the thrill of scenic aviation and the chance to stop at notable spots along the journey back to the airport.

Common Questions About This Maui Aerial Experience
How long is the helicopter flight portion?
The video does not specify the exact duration of the flight. Contact Temptation Tours or Blue Hawaiian directly for precise timing, as it may vary depending on the route option you choose and weather conditions on the day of your tour.
What's the difference between the two route options?
You can either fly to Hana in the morning and be driven back to the airport with scenic stops, or drive to Hana early in the day, enjoy lunch, and fly back to the airport in the afternoon. Choose based on whether you prefer your aerial views in the morning or later in the day.
Is this tour affected by weather?
Yes—the video notes that every trip is different depending on weather and nature. Conditions can impact visibility, what scenery is accessible, and flight safety, so flexibility and booking with a company that reschedules due to weather is important.
What should I wear and bring?
The video does not detail specific clothing or packing recommendations. Typically, for a combination aerial and ground tour in Hawaii, bring sunscreen, a hat, water, a camera, and dress in layers since you'll move between the cool helicopter cabin and warm outdoor stops.
Can I choose which pilot flies my tour?
While the video highlights pilot Mike as "fantastic," you cannot guarantee which pilot you'll have. Blue Hawaiian employs experienced professionals, and pilot assignment depends on scheduling and availability on your tour date.
