This is 900 watts of bifacial solar that you can order and get shipped free to your door off Amazon. Cuz that's been the biggest issue with Amazon is it's just been those small, you know, maybe 200 watt panel max size-wise. These are both 450 watt panels. You can see that they are bifacial panels. And best news
of it all, this is the grown-up version of the best solar panel that I've ever tested on my channel from Colsun. They've taken that same technology and dumped it into this huge 450 watt panel. And you can order them on Amazon just like you can their 200 watt panels. And wait until you see the performance here,
you guys. All right, let's get these solar panels unboxed. It's no small feat to ship panels this large, especially without lift gate service. But somehow Colsun's managing it. Very well packaged here. We've got this foam on the back side of the panel. And this is pretty cool. They've got this foam that's kind
of got these uh two sections. So it spaces panels apart from each other, keeps them safe. And you might be able to see the foam is in between the panels as well. So really stacked up well with foam to keep these safe and sound on top of crazy thick cardboard. Look how thick that is right there. This is the front
side and this is the back side. Now these are big panels, right? 450 watt panels. However, for being that large, they're actually quite compact. They're 69.4 inches tall by 44.7 inches wide by 1.2 inches thick. 54 lb each. Then we've got our little spec sheet here. They are 450 watt rated panels with a VMP of
30.08 volts, an IMP of 14.97 amps, VOC 35.03 volts, the ISC is 16.05 amps. Max string voltage, 1,500 V. And these are half-cut cells with 16 bus bars across. And I'm so excited what I'm seeing here because it looks like Colsun
has engineered these panels off the similar footprint of the best-performing panel I personally own, Colsun's smaller 200-W bifacial panel. This thing is insane. And I'm going to leave couple of videos of me testing this panel linked in the description. It's actually the perfect voltage and size for portable
power stations, and it constantly surprises me at how much power this thing produces. Sometimes I've seen it actually produce more than it's rated for. It's crazy. But the thing that made this panel so good is this is not their shade-tolerant panel, even though they do make that as well, but it this still
performs pretty good in the shade because it's split in half. See that split right there? And then on top of that, each quarter of the panel has its own section. So see how there's a bus bar that bridges this part of the panel all the way down to here. Same thing up here, all the way down to here, and then
it repeats on that other half of the panel. Well, check out what they've done here on these grown-up size panels. Once again, we've got them split in half right here. And now, instead of just two sections, look at this. We've got the bus bar across the top of these rows, and then it stops, and then we've got a
bus bar bridging these, and then another one bridging these. So now, each half of the panel is split into three individual sections. Another really premium feature is it appears that there is glass on the back side to protect the back of the cells. Some cheaper panels avoid doing
that. In fact, I've got some right here. I don't know if you can see, but these panels do not have a glass backer. They It's just the back of the cells with a coating of some kind, which I guess could be advantageous in certain scenarios, but I think you're going to get a lot longer life out of panels that
actually have some glass protecting the front and the backside. You will not believe how well these are working. First, it's a hot summer day here, just about July. We do have a few passing clouds, but at the moment, we've got 100% clear skies, and these have been sitting out for a minute as I've
been getting everything set up, so they're a little heat soaked. I've got coming over here to this charge controller, and it's connected to this totally epic server rack battery that can actually charge below freezing. You guys may be interested in seeing that. I'll leave a link for that testing video
down in the description. Check this out. 850 W dumping into this battery out of a possible 900. And that is insane. A blazing hot day like today, almost pushing 100°, that is just bonkers good performance, you guys. And it's even not even noon. It's past noon. It's like 2:39, so we're not at peak solar output
time on the day, and we're still almost getting full output. 50 W shy of full output on these panels. That is why I like Colsun panels so much, because you legit practically get their rated output even on a day like today where it's less than ideal. I would bet you if we were down in like the 50s with a bright clear
sunny day, these things would absolutely be riffing, and they may even be outputting higher than their rated output, which happened with the 200 W panels when I tested them with snow on the ground. Let me insert that clip here just so you can see that. Okay, so the Colsun Amazon 200 W bifacial panel is
hooked up now. It's really bright out here, but check it out. 232 W. So, 32 watts over its rated, you know, full capacity. Rarely do you ever see the full rated wattage. So, when you go over the rated output for a solar panel by that much, that is very impressive. So, I think we can conclusively say that
snow, combined with bifacial solar panels so long as they're, you know, up far enough to reap some of the reflection on the backside, makes a tremendous and meaningful improvement for your total solar output. So, Kilowatt Sun officially wins the award for the most efficient solar panels. And
the best thing is you can order them on Amazon and they ship to your door. I think that's insane. Let's do some artificial shade testing just to showcase the efficiency and, quote unquote, shade tolerance that these solar panels have. So, I've just got uh this towel across the top majority half
of this first panel. This one is still in full sun. These are connected into series. And remember we were getting like 850 watts before? Now, check it out. 535 watts. So, it took like a 300 watt hit, but you know that this panel here that's affected by the shade in particular is still outperforming cuz
we're getting more than the total of one entire panel in power output. And that's the secret to these panels that are split in half. Now, I've got that uh towel there bridging the two panels. And check that out. Almost identical output. 536 watts still. Very impressive. And so, that goes to show the power of how
these are segmented into thirds. So, this third over here is completely unaffected by the shade. And so, it's still at max production coming down in these bus bars. And really, it's just these few rows up here at the top that are being affected by the shade. Everything else is in full power. Okay,
so now check this out. I have changed the orientation. Now, we're bridging across that divide on this one panel. This panel is still in full sun and see now that completely nuked it. Only 118 watts. So, we went from like 500 plus down to 118 even though this panel over here is still in full sun. It's because
this panel is dragging this one down cuz they're connected in series and now I've bridged that magical split there. So, I'm affecting all the thirds on the upper part of the panel as well as all the thirds on the lower part of the panel. So, there's no way for the sun and the power to bypass any part of the
shade with this particular configuration. And so, because this is the worst performing panel in the string, it's going to drag this panel down with it. Okay, so the towel is in the same position. I just barely pulled it up so it's above that split there in the panel. Check out the difference that
made. Ah, look at that. Over 500 watts again, 524 watts. Now, let's compare the performance of the forward-facing side versus the backside. Currently, it's the forward-facing side and you can see we're dumping in 794 watts. So, almost 800 watts. And now I've got them flipped over, still connected in series but the
backside fully exposed to the sun. And you can see we're getting very acceptable 654 watts. So, of course, these are designed to be used, you know, the other way, right? For maximum efficiency cuz on this side you get to some shadowing from the cable and from the frames and everything like that. So,
still pretty impressive that getting over 600 watts from the backside alone. Just think if you lived in like a snowy place or something with some really nice reflective backing just like you saw with their 200 watt panel of this, I'm sure you would get just a huge amount of bifacial gain off these panels. Now, let
me know down in the comments if you guys would be interested in seeing a wintertime snow test with bifacial gain on these panels when I have snow again. Just say yes snow test in your comment so that way I can kind of gauge the interest level. So yeah, Amazon may have just become the best place for some of
you to buy your full size residential glass solar panels. Now I already can hear people furiously typing in the comments. Oh, I'm not going to buy it on Amazon. That's so expensive. I'll just go pick up you know some panels from a local supplier near me. By all means do that. If you have a resource that's
close to you where you don't have to pay a marked up price to cover shipping and logistics of something so large and heavy as a 450 watt solar panel, take advantage of that resource. But there's a lot of you out there that buying stuff on Amazon is the best and sometimes the most cost-effective solution even though
it might be more than if you had a local supplier. And that's the niche this fills. This is also perfect for those of you that just need, you know, one or two or four panels. You don't need to buy a quantity of 10 or an entire pallet of them of you know 33 or something like that cuz so many times these larger
panels, if you order them online, need to be ordered in minimum quantities of 10 and goes up from there. And sometimes that's just impractical for a lot of people. So once again, Call Sun to the rescue. Order just one, order two, order four, however you many you need, you can easily and pretty cost-effectively get a
